Project Footprint is a way for all of us to reduce our carbon footprint and lead Hawaii to a bright, sustainable future.
The Project Footprint Legacy Forest is a living symbol of our movement. Your native King Koa tree will be planted on the slopes of Mauna Kea, next to the trees of other community members. Together, we can watch our forest grow and track our collective impact.
Building a movement, and a forest
Some of us plant trees to see the native forest re-grow. Others plant to remember a family member or celebrate new life. And we all plant to preserve the aina we love.
Know your impact
Every tree makes a difference. If Hawaii comes together to plant 100,000 trees, here’s a look at what we can achieve.
How it works
Sign up
Confirm you’d like to sponsor the planting of a Project Footprint Legacy Tree.
Support
Select your payment method. Each native King Koa tree is $90 (or $60 if you’ve already taken other Project Footprint steps). This payment goes exclusively to collecting seeds, raising your seedling, planting, fencing, clearing invasive species, and geo-tagging.
Get rewards
Once your tree is planted, you’ll receive a personalized certificate with tracking number so you can visit your tree and watch the forest grow online. The first 1,000 participants will also get a Project Footprint reusable grocery bag.
